In 1327-77 Thomas fitz Rould, Constable of Burton, sold his ancestral estates including the Abbey of Easby to Henry Lord Scrope of Bolton. Thus the Scrope family became possessors of the patronage of the Abbey of Easby. More information about Easby Abbey follow the link.
